TimeBox Help

• Switch between a clean List view and a spacious 3D Canvas .
• Use the view that fits your way of thinking best. 
• Your changes are saved automatically. There is no save button.
• Hover over controls to see tooltips, and in the canvas watch the help bar at the bottom for contextual tips.

List View

Creating tasks

• Press Enter to create a new task below.
• Press Ctrl/Cmd + Enter to create a subtask.
• You can also use the + button to create a task below the current selection.

Selecting tasks

Click a task to select it.

Use:

• Ctrl/Cmd + Click to add or remove tasks from the selection
  

• Shift + Click to select a range of tasks
  
  

Dragging & organizing

Drag tasks to:

• place them above or below other tasks
  

• place them inside another task to create subtasks
  
  

Editing multiple tasks

When multiple tasks are selected, changing properties like:

• due date
  

• priority
  

• size
  

• color
  

• spent time
  
  

will apply to all selected tasks.

Keyboard shortcuts

• Ctrl/Cmd + D duplicate selected tasks
  

• Backspace delete selected tasks
  

• Escape cancel dragging
  
  

List options

Click the gear icon to toggle visible columns:

Color, Edit, Sharing, Comments, Attachments, Priority, Spent, Size, Due date.

Canvas View

The canvas lets you organize tasks visually in a spatial workspace.

Adding items

Use the spawn menu to create:

• tasks
  

• text labels
  

• images
  

Right-click anywhere to place the spawn point.  Drag the spawn point to change where new items appear.

Moving and editing

Drag tasks to position them freely.

Use the task toolbar to:

• resize tasks
  

• change color
  

• upload an image
  

• dim (reduce opacity)
  

• delete
  

Double-click a task to open its details.

Navigation

• Drag empty space to pan the canvas
  

• Scroll to zoom
  
  

Canvas settings

Click the gear icon to change settings such as:

• dark mode
  

• grid type and size
  

• snap to grid
  

• default task color
  

• units and smallest unit
  

• perspective
  

• date format
  

• time format
  

• timezone

Task Details

Opening a task shows its detail panel.

Here you can:

• edit the task name and description
  

• set due date, priority, size, spent time, color, and type
  

• add comments
  

• upload attachments
  

• manage sharing

Collaboration

You can share tasks with others.

Features include:

• invite people by email
  

• permission levels: Read, Write, Admin
  

• comments and attachments on shared tasks
  

• real-time updates for all collaborators
  
  

Shared tasks stay synchronized between users.

Tips

• Double-click tasks in the canvas to open them quickly.
  
  

• Drag multiple selected tasks to move them together.
  
  

• Use the canvas to map projects visually, and the list to work quickly through tasks.
  
  

• Tooltips and the canvas help bar will guide you as you work.
